Who we serve 02

For those who decide, and bear the consequences.

We work for businesses where the decision-makers are close to the work. That is where every choice counts, and where an experienced sounding board makes the most difference.

i.

SMEs

Businesses that have grown on the talent of their managing director and now require structure, management control and a clear direction to keep growing.

ii.

Family businesses

Families who want to strengthen the business and pass it on, with governance that carefully separates family, ownership and management.

iii.

Start-ups and scale-ups

Founders building a healthy business from an idea, and growth companies growing faster than their organisation that require structure, numbers and leadership that scale with them.

iv.

Directors and shareholders

Boards, shareholders and investors looking for an independent perspective, a non-executive director or an interim leader.

What does a management consultant do for a business?

A management consultant helps the director or business owner make better choices and carry them out. At SBC International, that covers five pillars: strategy and execution, processes and data, people and organisation, sustainability, and governance and leadership. We analyse where your business stands, make the choices together and support the execution until the result is visible.

Which businesses does SBC International work for?

For businesses of every size, family businesses and growth companies that want to take the next step, and for directors and shareholders looking for an independent perspective. In every sector, from industry, construction and logistics to healthcare, government and education. We are not sector specialists: we bring governance experience that works in any sector. SBC International is a Belgian company based in Lokeren that operates internationally.

What does SBC International do in the field of AI?

SBC International offers AI Consulting (advice, policy, choices) and AI Engineering (building and implementing AI systems) for businesses. We determine with you which AI you need, want and can use, build the application into your own processes and set out agreements on its use: process automation, AI agents for sales and administration, data and reporting, and AI policy in line with the GDPR and the EU AI Act. SBC International builds and implements the applications with its own team. At a fixed price per project, agreed in advance.

Does SBC International also work for businesses outside Belgium?

Yes. The Direction Call and many engagements take place online via Microsoft Teams, in Dutch or English, so distance plays no role. SBC International is a Belgian company based in Lokeren that operates internationally.

Does SBC International specialise in one sector?

No. SBC International is a cross-sector consulting firm. Governance questions about direction, organisation, numbers and execution are the same in every sector, so we work for businesses in all sectors: industry, construction, logistics, trade, services, technology, healthcare, the public sector and more. SBC International CommV was founded in Lokeren in 2021 by Tom De Mol (KBO 0769.605.324) and is not affiliated with other companies of the same name.

What is the difference between an adviser, an interim manager and a non-executive director?

An adviser provides analysis and direction, and management carries it out. An interim CEO or COO temporarily takes charge and bears the responsibility. A non-executive director sits on your board of directors or advisory board and oversees direction, risk and governance. SBC International can take on any of these roles.

How does a first conversation work?

The Direction Call is the in-depth intake: two hours via Microsoft Teams. You tell us where your business stands and where you want to take it. Within two working days you receive three reports: problem analysis, solution and advice, implementation method. You start with a free scan. The call costs € 600 excl. VAT and is strictly confidential. After payment we confirm your time.

How long does an engagement take?

A strategic engagement typically runs six to sixteen weeks. An interim assignment usually lasts three to twelve months. A board mandate or a role as sparring partner is a longer-term commitment. After the Direction Call, you receive a proposal with approach and timing.

What does management consulting cost?

That depends on the question, the scope and the role. You always receive a clear proposal in advance with objectives, timing and fees, so there are no surprises afterwards. You are under no obligation.

How confidential is working with you?

Completely. Governance issues call for discretion. What you share with us stays between you and us, and we never name our clients. On request, we sign a non-disclosure agreement in advance.

  • One experienced point of contact, no changing team
  • Clear prices, agreed in advance
