What are scope 1, 2 and 3?

Scope 1 covers the emissions from your own operations, such as fuel and heating. Scope 2 comes from the energy you purchase. Scope 3 covers the emissions in the rest of the chain, at suppliers and customers.

Why should an SME measure its emissions?

Because large customers and banks increasingly ask for it, because it helps lower energy costs and because you can only improve what you measure.

How long does a first calculation take?

That depends on the data available. A first calculation of scope 1 and 2 is usually ready within a few weeks; scope 3 takes more time and collaboration across the chain.
